They're well-groomed, well-spoken, and have done more to advance the cause of equal rights for metrosexuals than anyone we know. They're Ryan Seacrest and Carson Daly. From American Idol to Last Call, these two TV personalities are everywhere you look -- and that includes the Buzz.
Searches on Seacrest, the man who put the "tan" in "self tanning," are up 106% this week. The interest is likely due to his recent $21 million deal with E! Entertainment Television. Let that sink in a bit. Ryan Seacrest is going to make $21 million. Meanwhile, we're still driving a Dodge Stratus. A Stratus, people! Where did we go wrong?
Daly, who ranks slightly lower on the annoyance scale than suddenly Seacrest, is up 93%. The man who came terrifyingly close to becoming Tara Reid's husband trails Seacrest in overall queries, but something tells us Carson's long-term prospects are more rosy than Ry's. Call it a hunch.
So when it comes to hard-hitting entertainment journalists, who do we prefer? We probably shouldn't say, but let it be known that when ol' John Tesh is on the radio, we crank it up.
