Spinning a web through search, spiders are a creepy subject weaving buzz from curious bug watchers. After reading a news item about the slow evolution of the spider web, we were intrigued enough to analyze arachnid searches. Scientists may be able to trace the origin of the orb-style spider web back 110 million years, but our research into the top spider searches is a lot more timely. It's from last week. We ask your understanding as we present the top 20 spiders scurrying through Buzz...

A subject's buzz score is the percentage of Yahoo! users searching for that subject on a given day, multiplied by a constant to make the number easier to read. Weekly leaders are the subjects with the greatest average buzz score for a given week.

i have a pet black widow spider and she's not creepy, she's freekin scary....I'm from Iowa so we don't even have them here, but she must have came in on a crate because I found her in a warehouse I worked at when she was still tiny and practically transparent brownish colored...that was last summer...she's molted about 5 times since then and now she's big and a dark shiny black with the bright red hourglass on her underbelly...she's got a pretty sweet set up at my place...a nice environment and I feed her crickets or flies...it gives me the willies watching her stalk and fry them...

The most deadly on that list is the Brown Recluse. Its because of the Necrotoxic Venom.
