Who hasn't sat on their couch wondering what life would be like as a famous rapper? "What would Ludacris do?" "When I grow up I want be Big Boi!" "I wish I was a little more like T.I."
Young grasshopper, your prayers have been answered. Def Jam: Icon hits the streets this week. Now's your chance to live the virtual life of a rap superstar.
Technically a fighting game, the promotional copy makes Def Jam: Icon sound like Grand Theft Auto meets Dance Dance Revolution with a little Guitar Hero thrown in. Music plays a key part in your efforts to fight your rags-to-riches way to the top of the rap food chain.
Thanks to its mix of beats of both the musical and physical variety, we imagine this title will sell like hotcakes and milkshakes. Buzz on the new title for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 is up 137% over the past week.
We hope it will be a smash success. Maybe then Def Jam and EA will consider sequels starring the real superstars of hip-hop. 'Cause we've stayed up many a night wondering what it would be like to be Flavor Flav or one of the The Fat Boys.
