It's time to discuss one of our most divisive topics. No, not the continued presence of Sanjaya on "American Idol." We're here to discuss something that women have absolutely no interest in. The dreaded topic of fantasy baseball.
Rarely do we see such a wide disparity in male/female searches, but in the case of fantasy baseball we're not surprised. Few females understand the allure of acting like a baseball general manager. Only 7% of queries on "fantasy baseball" come from women, and even that sounds a little high.
We can't think of any topics with a such a dramatic Search imbalance favoring ladies—even soaps such as "General Hospital" earn a more reasonable 75/25 gender split.
Where are these dudes who passionate play fantasy baseball? According to searches, predominately in the Northeast. The three top metros for fantasy searches are all in Massachusetts: New Bedford, Boston, and Springfield. Upstate New York rounds out our top five with strong interest in Albany and Binghamton.
We slogged through our own draft and picked the top ten fantasy searches over the last week. Play ball...

Obviously men have much more discretionary time on their hands. Real women have real things to do and rarely have time to spend on fantasy activities. Clearly these men need more to do....like say, chores or running the kids back and forth to real baseball games(-:

My boyfriend plays fantasy baseball. I go along with it, but I tease him. My pastor also plays so they try to gang up on me. I just can't get past the fact that there's "fantasy" in the name. One thing I didn't really think of was that it's like acting as a manager of a team. That makes more sense.

I played last year and it made me appreciate the game more. It is way more work than football, but I get more out of it. As a sports loving female, this article depresses me..........
Go ORIOLES!!!, though now living in SD I am a PADRES fan as well.

this woman has been managing fantasy baseball teams for 3 yrs now .lowest rank was 7. i am managing 3 teams this year all head to head leagues. It sucks that because of my gender I can never be a baseball manager ( i think i would be good :) )also gender busting news flash!!! i also play baseball am a lefty-switch hitter that can hit to any part of the field both sides, but if i could be anything i would be a pitcher.

We have a family league every year. Myself, and both my daughter-in-laws really get into it. It makes watching baseball so much fun.

The reason you aren't seeing searches on Fantasy Baseball by women is because real Female baseball fans don't need to search, they KNOW where it is!
This female baseball fan has been playing fantasy baseball for years, more so than many of my Male friends. In fact, I do believe that my current league is almost half female. So where ever you are finding your statistics, I don't think they are very accurate.
GO A'S!!!
