One Hairy Question: Up or Down?
For many high-school age girls, the most important decision isn't whether or not to add more glitter to their MySpace page. It's all about up or down. Should their prom 'do be piled high or let down and luscious? For years, searches have shown the "prom updo" to be the more popular choice as high school girls opted to make their tresses into a mountain of locks.
This year the updo still outshines the down 'n' dirty look in Search by a margin of 2 to 1. However, searches on "down prom hairstyles" are up 189% over the last week and are moussing their way up the charts. Those unsure of which way to wear their hair have sent searches on "prom hair styles" up 64% over the past week. We've also seen gel-induced spikes on "2007 prom hairstyle pictures" (+31%), "prom hairdos" (+31%), and "prom hair" (+81%).
So what else have teen girls been obsessing over when it comes to their prom 'do? We waded through the haze of Aquanet to pull out these hot prom hair searches...

The sad thing is that girls alway like to put their hair up for formal affairs like a prom, but the guys almost always like the girls with their hair down. Please take a study asking guys what they prefer. Once girls see the results, they might re-think putting it up......but probably not.

I think there should be a poll on what the guys think about up or down, that way the girls can see what we think before they turn their hair into a spider monkey,

hey! Does anyone know where I can find the pearl bobbie pins?
I saw them at fred segal.. when I went back they were gone! I saw them in In Style magazine...but I am hoping and praying they sell them elsewhere. They are called Dominique Duval.. or something french like that. I WANT THEM FOR MY UPDO!!!

How about no prom? I understand the prom is meant to celebrate with your school friends, and I went to my senior prom and it was ok, but I think nowadays it's all about showing off "who has more". My daughter has opted out of her junior prom this year because of the expense and that she doesn't want to waste a night listening to crappy music she doesn't like (most music played in our area at dances is Rap, not that that's bad but there's NO variety!) She is using the money she would have spent on one night (upwards these days of HUNDREDS of dollars) and doing something fun with her group of friends and putting the rest in the bank for her car, college expenses, etc. More power to her!
