A Scientific Take on Frank TV
Hypothesis: Frank TV is popular in Search due to its incredibly annoying commercials which are played on TBS every three seconds.
Methodology: We examined the Search data from the past seven days and found the buzz on "Frank TV" to be disturbingly positive. Searches on the show, about an impressionist named Frank Caliendo who mimics easy targets like George W. Bush and John Madden, have skyrocketed ever since the promotional campaign began. Even more disturbing -- the show does not premier until November 20, leaving viewers to suffer through six more weeks of insipid ads.
Data Analysis: Significant spikes on "frank tv actor," "frank tv tbs," and "what is frank tv" indicate folks are at least intrigued enough to search. However, one must wonder if these searches are born of genuine interest or sincere loathing for the ads. Alas, our data does not offer any answers.
Conclusion: Despite (or perhaps because of) the show's unholy commercials, "Frank TV" has become an unexpected hit in Search. We'd like to see the show banished to a black hole, but the masses are clearly ready to watch. There are some things even science can't explain.
