Another Bollywood Blockbuster
Searches Soar for 'Om Shanti Om'
Like any self-respecting cinematic smash, "Om Shanti Om" comes equipped with a luscious leading lady (Deepika Padukone), a veteran luminary (Shah Rukh Khan), a big name director (Farah Khan), and an eyebrow raising set of abs ("King" Khan, once more). Think "300" meets campy musical.
Now, buzz for the Bollywood spectacle is breaking out all over. Thanks primarily to searchers under the age of 17, the flick has cracked our top 15 movie searches. Demand for its wallpapers, songs, lyrics, and reviews are hitting the high notes in Search.
The big dance numbers don't stop there. The musical/love story/reincarnation/spoof has topped India's box office, drawn throngs of crowds in the U.K., and grossed $1.7 million in its first three days in the U.S. It may just be a matter of time before we're all clasping our hands and saying, "Om."
