What's Going On With Bernadette Peters?
Searches Soar for the Broadway Singer
No, really, what's going on? Yesterday, searches for Bernadette Peters surged 10,587%. Demand for her name kept the big-voiced wonder at the top of the hourly searches most of the day. By the end of the 24-hour period, she'd racked up enough buzz to break into Monday's top 10 fastest moving queries.
We ticked through the most recent news stories about La Peters, and all of them left us wanting. Could it have been her March 27 appearance as a guest host on "Regis"? Unlikely. What about her impending arrival in the bustling metropolis of Cleveland? Uh, no.
No less an expert than Kermit the Frog once labeled the curly-haired crooner "one of the all-time, multi-talented, beautiful ladies of the world." And, hey, we agree. But we're still baffled as to why searchers went ga-ga for her yesterday. If you have an idea, relieve us of this dilemma and post a note.
Now, on to today's top hourly searches: What's the story with Teri Garr?

Please spare us the sarcasm about Cleveland. Most of us don't live in New York, LA or even places as bustling as Cleveland.

I searched for Peters for the first time ever on Thursday, after Regis, because she looked about 40 -- which couldn't be right. Somehow she is 60. Years ago I saw her on some show explaining that she was very white because she stayed out of the sun to protect her skin.

Wow, sensitive. Not sure why anyone who doesn't live in Cleveland would have any reason to take offense to that. I suppose I understand your logic, it just seems like you're reacting excessively to a minor point.

It's her amazing youthful appearance that's making folks search on her. She was in some movie, maybe like 10 years ago, where she played (I think) Circe, the mythological sorceress. She was showing a lot of skin, and looked mighty fine. And she was like 50 something! Amazing.

She probably does look "great at 60"....she took care of that skin.
By the way, Miss Molly...let's take it easy on Cleveland.I live very close to it,and it's turning into something fantastic....very savvy.I have been to LA quite a few times...and the hotspots are far and few between.Ok to visit....but I'd take NYC or Chicago or Toronto or San Fran
over LA any day.....don't like sucking in smog...YUK

I didn't see her on Regis...but DID notice how lovely and young she looked on a recent PBS ad. Honestly....we all want to know how she does it!

What was the second job that Steve Martin got & wrote home about in the movie "The Jerk"? Could that be a clue?
