Sheesh, Were You Raised in a Barn?

Here's a depressing fact of life: Everywhere you go, people are silently judging you. Even if you have nothing but good intentions, a bit of poor etiquette will send your social stock tumbling faster than you can burp the ABCs.

Fortunately, according to Search, more folks are becoming aware of the importance of good etiquette. To wit, we noticed a slight uptick in "etiquette" queries this week. Perhaps the rise is due to the coming summer wedding season? After all, nobody wants to look like a boorish buffoon on the bride's big day.

We tracked down the top "etiquette" searches from the past week and found an interesting mix of terms. People are searching on good email manners, proper baby shower behavior, and, of course, how to avoid looking like an office oaf. But proper peeps are also interested in less obvious searches—"bowling etiquette," "text message etiquette," and the seemingly oxymoronic "belching etiquette" each received significant lookups. Take a look at our complete list below and, for crying out loud, be sure to keep your elbows off the table.
