A Lady at the Derby
The Kentucky Derby is this weekend. Normally we wouldn't go out of our way to write about a bunch of horses running around in the mud, but this year is different. For the first time in nearly a decade, a filly is in the competition. The horse, Eight Belles, will be the first female in the Derby since 1999, and an article from The Ledger drew a standing ovation of buzz. Somebody get this horse a mint julep!
It Came From the '80s
Celebs are known for hip hairstyles. Alas, nobody told John Mayer. The singer recently unveiled his new 'do, a feathered look inspired by Michael J. Fox. Articles from Us Weekly and Pop Sugar brought in the buzz as folks took a look at the ironic (we assume) haircut. Interestingly, Mayer has been rumored to be seeing another celeb known for iconic hairstyles—Ms. Jennifer Aniston. Together, their hair could rule the world.

Nearly everyone agrees that global warming is one of the biggest challenges of our time. Discovery.com writes that while global warming is very real, the frightening phenomenon may take a break over the next few years, thanks to a natural shift in ocean currents. Scientists believe that a change in the Gulf Stream will cause the planet to cool a bit over the next few years. They are quick to point out that global warming is still a long-term problem that needs to be dealt with, so don't go burning any leaves.
