Icons Hit the Big 5-0
Madonna is turning 50 this summer. That's right—the woman who attempted (and thankfully failed) to bring cone bras to the masses has been walking the earth for half a century.
And she's not the only icon celebrating the big 5-0 this year. Michael Jackson will have 50 candles on his cake this August. Actor, environmentalist, and cell phone aficionado Alec Baldwin just turned 50. And the artist formerly known as "the artist formerly known as Prince" turns 50 in a few months. Time, it seems, waits for no man, even if he happens to be extremely funky.
We expect lookups for Madonna, Jacko, and Prince to climb the buzz charts in the coming weeks. In the meantime, we tracked down the top twenty "how old is..." searches from the past seven days. Searchers are always interested in learning the ages of their favorite celebs—even if the glitterati would prefer you think they're all 28.

Prince's Purple Reign
We know Prince's popularity isn't as strong as it was when he first sang about his "Little Red Corvette" or all that "Purple Rain." But the Grammy award-winning wonder still knows how to work the crowd and put on a show.
Following his (purple) rainy performance at the Super Bowl halftime show (+679%), the energy he ignited on stage worked its way into Search. We saw a downpour of query spikes showing people searching for Prince's height, age, biography, and much more. Will renewed interest help him reclaim his throne? Judging from the variety of Prince-ly searches, we'd say he's ready to be fit for a crown...

The Royal One Returns
Dearly Beloved,
We are gathered here today to get through this thing called "Prince." Helluva singer, Prince. He's been around forever, and that's a mighty long time, but we're to here to tell ya...there's something else—his searches. [end thinly veiled plagiarism]
If our intro didn't already give it away, the artist formerly known as the artist formerly known as Prince is back. His new album, "3121," continues to score big on the Billboard charts, and searches on the rock icon are surging as if by royal decree.
Only the most hard-hearted curmudgeon would dare to hate on Prince's greatest hits. It's his more recent stuff that's been easier to dismiss as self-indulgent and, well, kind of annoying.
Fortunately for the petite purple wonder, his new album has changed all that. Interest in "3121" lyrics, videos, and reviews have all gone crazy in the purple rain while wearing raspberry berets, as doves cry softly in the distance. It's almost like it's 1999 all over again. [end poor attempt to insert references to famous Prince songs]
