In the upcoming issue of Vogue, Cindy McCain stretches out in a sunny photo spread, sporting skinny jeans and red toe nail polish. The magazine hasn't hit the newsstands yet, but already Buzz is sizzling over the barefoot style shot.
In the past hours, a CNN video clip on the photo op picked up notice, while a Radar blog post on the appearance moved up the Buzz charts. "Don't hate Cindy McCain because she's beautiful," the online mag exclaims.
In Search, demand for "cindy mccain vogue" shot upwards, nearly cracking yesterday's top 20 "mccain" queries and beating out such searches as "senator mccain," "how old is john mccain," and "mccain vp choices."
Mrs. McCain isn't the only political spouse to grace the fashion glossy's pages. Last September, Michelle Obama also appeared in Vogue. Unlike the lady from Arizona, Mrs. Obama went formal, wearing a little black dress, a string of pearls, and shoes. At the time, searchers didn't really care. They were much more interested in the Obama girl's attire than the Obama wife's, but a lot has changed since then.
Now, another magazine's impression of Michelle Obama is attracting Buzz readers. TIME has an analysis coming out of Mrs. Obama's "on-the-stump performance," which Huffington Post happily dissects. The blog scoop has already leapt in Buzz, ranking #2 in the past week's most popular articles for the Democratic spouse. However, if Mrs. Obama really wants to heat up the Buzz, she might give Anna Wintour a call.
