Wonder Woman, on the case
Lynda Carter was boating on the Potomac River in Washington, D.C. when she spotted a body floating in the water. The actress, best known for her portrayal of the bracelet-wearing crime fighter Wonder Woman, says she "did what anybody would have done" when she called for help and stayed near the corpse until rescuers arrived. Her civic-minded actions earned her high points in Buzz, boosting searches on her name more than 1,670% and propelling articles on the tale upwards.

Big Brown, out of the running
The mighty thoroughbred who left his contenders in the dust at Churchill Downs and Pimlico ran a very different kind of race on Saturday. "When Big Brown turned for home," the Sarasota Herald-Tribune says, "something wasn't right." The odds-on champion not only didn't cross the finish line first in the Belmont Stakes, he placed dead last. Buzz readers reeling from the loss sought multiple articles on the Triple Crown thrashing, and searches on "big brown preakness" more than doubled.

The Torrey Pines fairway in Southern California is a notoriously tough golf course to play. So tough, that golfing legend Tiger Woods once claimed only a pro could beat the course. On Friday, a group of non-golf pros gathered to prove the champ wrong.

The fearless four teeing up for the mission: Tony Romo, Justin Timblerlake, Matt Lauer, and a civilian from Omaha, Nebraska. The outcome: Romo and Timberlake both broke 100—and showed non-pros could do themselves proud at the Pines (without, perhaps, discrediting Tiger's statement).
