Jimmy vs. Tiger on the Wii
Jimmy Fallon has thrown down the golfing gauntlet to a guy no sane man would ever challenge ... Tiger Woods.
The late night funnyman will tee-off against Tiger Woods in a round of golf on the Nintendo Wii. Hey, Jimmy may be dumb, but he's not stupid. An avid gamer, Fallon is betting that his skills with the Wii-mote will be greater than Tiger's talents with a virtual putter ... or driver ... or iron ... or sand wedge ... you get the picture.
We first learned of the face-off on Kotaku. According to the pop culture blog, Fallon announced that Woods would be a guest on his show this week (you can also see the announcement on Fallon's Twitter feed). Fallon also said that he really wanted to play the golfing legend at some "Tiger Woods 10" golf on the Wii because it's the only way he'd ever stand a chance.
Be careful what you wish for, Jimbo. Woods, clearly not scared, has accepted the challenge. Viewers can tune in on Thursday night to see if a gamer can beat a tiger at his own game (literally). No matter who wins the contest, expect searches on "tiger woods nintendo wii" to soar.

Confirmed: A Tiger Walks on Water
Tiger Woods is one of the most dominant athletes alive. But is he really a mortal like the rest of us? Footage of the golfer walking on water has some folks wondering if he's actually something more... divine.
Well, not really. The footage was just a viral video. Still, though obviously a joke, the clip has started a firestorm of buzz. So what's the story? Apparently, in an older version of the Tiger Woods video game, players could "walk on water" when their golf balls landed in the drink. Fans of the games noticed this and pointed out the bug by uploading clips to the Web. EA Sports, the publisher of the series, decided to have a fight back by posting a video of Tiger casually strolling on water a la Jesus. The clip concludes with, "It's not a glitch, he's just that good." In your face, gamers!
Naturally, news that EA had gone to great lengths to have a little fun stirred up the bloggers. An article from USA Today notes that the video is getting millions of views and that another of Tiger responding to a Rubik's Cube will likely garner a lot more eyeballs. Meanwhile, Mashable writes that it is nice to see major companies like EA "get" the Web subculture. Indeed, a clever response to customer criticism goes a long way. Finally, though the ad may seem original, TrendHunter points out that this isn't the first time an athlete has been compared to Jesus Christ. In "The Theater of Dreams," an upcoming musical, David Beckham gets the whole son of God treatment. No word on whether he trades in his cleats for sandals.

Schwing and a Miss
Chivalry ain't what it used to be. Now, instead of challenging someone to a duel, you simply threaten them with a lawsuit. At least that's what Tiger Woods did when his wife, Elin Nordegren, was lampooned in an Irish magazine.
What exactly caused Tiger to bare his (lawyers') teeth? Apparently Dubliner Magazine falsly claimed nude pictures of the fair Ms. Nordegren could be found on a number of "adult web sites." The tabloid asserts this was a joke and not meant to be taken seriously, but Woods failed to see the humor.
Nevertheless, Ms. Nordegren dominated the Buzz in the same way her husband dominates the links. Six of the top ten movers were related to fetching former model, including "elin nordegren pics," "tiger woods wife," and plain ol' "elin." The bickering is bound to blow over eventually, but until Lee Trevino has a wardrobe malfunction on the 18th green, this spat will remain golf's sexiest (and most searched-for) story.
