This weekend, a new "ugliest dog" was crowned, while an iconic model won an Emmy (and buzz for her new 'do). Meanwhile, a gambling controversy threatend the reputation of one of the world's most prestigious sporting events. Read on for the good, the bad, and the very, very ugly.

The Eye of the Beholder
Everyone loves a winner, but not all winners are lovely. If you want proof, look no further than Gus the dog. The one-eyed, three-legged pooch won the annual "world's ugliest dog contest" and in doing so, set off a slew of searches on his name and new title. An article from Salon offers in-depth analysis on the pup's victory.

Is Tyra the New Barbie?
Remember all that talk about Tyra Banks being (gulp) fat? Yeah, after seeing the talk show host at the Daytime Emmy Awards, neither do we. Ms. Banks showed up looking like a million bucks and won the "Outstanding Informative Talk Show" award. The category may sound like a joke, but the interest in all things Tyra was anything but. Folks seemed especially intrigued by her new Barbie doll 'do.

Trouble at Wimbledon
The NBA isn't the only sport fighting off accusations of fixing. Wimbledon (which starts Monday) is in the news after rumors surfaced that eight matches were rigged by professional gambling syndicates. An article from the Huffington Post scored well in the Buzz as concerned fans flocked to the Web to read more.

Also Buzzing this Weekend...
• Racing fans mourned the tragic loss of Scott Kalitta. The well-known driver was killed when his car burst into ball of flames. The horrific accident inspired related searches on the National Hot Rod Association and another famous driver who died on the tracks, Dale Earnhardt.
• Is it possible to create an electic car you never have to plug in? HowStuffWorks answers the question and garners a tank full of buzz for its efforts.
