Welcome to the world of green speed dating. Here, eco-loving singles meet and greet in less time than it takes to blurt "carbon footprint." According to NPR, the environmentally friendly, fast-talking trend recently popped up in Los Angeles, where the rapid-paced conversation seemed to focus on transportation. Prius, SUV, or bike? Next!

Tinsel town is one thing; the Web is another. In Search, green speed dating has yet to crack our top demands from motor mouth romantics. However, other themed events are definitely drawing crowds.

In the past week, we've logged searches for speed dating that is Christian, black, lesbian, Jewish, or interracial. Add to that one other demographic: the penny pinchers. Searches for "free speed dating" are among our most popular. Now that's one under-romanced group.
