We hear that 'Gossip Girl' Serena van der Woodsen (played with much blonde hair and boho chic by Blake Lively) is about to get a new beau. This time, instead of the usual on-again, off-again relationship with an artsy, soulful boy, she's pulling an Anne Hathaway and dating a socialite cad for the season's end.

That is, the writers are pulling a ripped from the headlines romance based on Anne Hathaway's ex, Raffaello Follieri. The Italian playboy who held her heart turned out to be a con-artist, convicted on 14 counts of fraud and money-laundering, and is now held in prison. That's taking the bad-boy schtick to a whole new level. But what's bad for Anne Hathaway is good for 'Gossip Girl.'

Although we have to take a moment to reflect. It's hard enough when your life is spread all over the tabloids. But when it's fodder for escapist TV plotlines, well, let's hope Hathaway has done some serious thinking about her life choices. We'd hate to see any more relationships turn into the next season for 'Gossip Girl.' But if that's what happens, we promise to tell you here. Xoxo.
