In Honor of All Moms

It is officially time to panic if you haven't done anything yet to prepare for Mother's Day.

As for moms hankering to know what recognition you might get on Sunday, May 10...okay, you can take a peek in the Search box. Be warned: There's bad news and good news...and we'll switch up the order for people who prefer to receive one over the other first:

  • Bad news: There’s been a slight 15% drop in look-ups for "mother's day gift ideas" compared to this same time last year. Good news: Overall, the kids have been prepping earlier for the occasion, with least a 10% rise in Mother’s Day-related searches over last year. And, rather than material presents, you all may be spending more quality time doing “mother’s day activities” and “mother’s day projects.”

  • Good news: More moms will be getting some beautiful bouquets. Bad news: Expect cheaper buds—although this could be good news if you raised the kids to be thrifty.

  • Bad news: Less recitations if the drop in "mother's day poems" are any indication. Good news: More recitals, thanks to a jump in "mother's day songs."

  • And only good news here: You will be showered with French toast and sparkly baubles. What more could a mom want?

Oh, a shout-out to the good people of Austin (Tex.): That region has been leading the Web prep for "mother's day," followed by San Diego, San Francisco Bay Area, Waco (Tex.) and Raleigh. On the state level, South Carolina hearts mom, closely followed by Maryland, California, Florida and Arizona. Y'all should be proud.
