The Beauty and the Blackmailer
All it takes is a hint of salaciousness to send searchers scurrying on the Web. Current Miss New Jersey Amy Polumbo went public and said she's being targeted by a blackmailer in possession of some personal pictures from her past. That admission set the Buzz to boil.
Queries on the beauty pageant babe immediately went from "who?" to "whoa!". Interest in the Jersey gal jumped 186% and curious folks hoping to locate the possibly prurient photos were busy looking for "amy polumbo photos," "miss new jersey pictures," and "amy polumbo miss new jersey."
Polumbo says she won't be bow to the blackmailer's pressure, so if the person holding the shameful snaps leaks them, expect this scandalous story to burn up the Buzz.

Miss America Scores in Search
What ever happened to Miss America? The decline in interest in the pageantry and pomp surrounding the crown is well documented. Heck, this year's extravaganza ended up on CMT. CMT, people! We hereby challenge you to find that on your dial.
But even with the pageant shuttled to the nether regions of your cable dial, search interest in Miss America didn't flag this year. Perhaps it's because so few of you caught the extravaganza on TV. Queries on Miss America jumped into our top 10 after the winner was crowned. We also saw spikes in "miss america swimsuit contest," "miss america photos," and "miss america contestants." Something was driving interest in the goings-on in pageantland, could it be...
Miss America herself, Jennifer Berry? Well, searches on the Oklahoman queen bee did surge following her victorious stroll down the runway. But it's a short-lived strut in Buzz -- we've never seen a Miss America pull down consistent searches. Dare we issue two challenges in one column? Can you tell us who won the tiara in 2005? Um, see? So, we're sure Berry's spike will be short-lived, and Internet denizens will return to searching for their very own Miss America among the bounty of babes on the Web.
